Certificate of Higher Education Skills for Engineering (CertHE) (pathway)
Course Title
The course will be delivered through a mix of online delivery, face to face theory and practical sessions. This will be delivered over 3 days per week in a blended learning format. Theory and practical sessions will be at UWTSD’s new Waterfront campus in Swansea.
The Cert HE programmes have been specifically designed to give you a range of SKILLS sought by employers when considering applications to HIGHER and DEGREE APPRENTICESHIPS.
During your studies, you will gain the specialist and transferable skills to enable you to identify and solve real-world engineering problems and to confidently apply knowledge in a dynamic workplace environment.
The programme team will work with you to develop your practical, verbal and written skills – whilst allowing you to demonstrate to potential employers that you can plan and work effectively independently and with other people to deliver on your objectives… the skills that employers want!

Students on the Skills for Engineering pathway will also study the following modules:
- Computer Aided Engineering Design
- Measurement and Quality in Manufacturing
- Automation and Robotics /Industry
This programme is only available to Home applicants.
No qualifications are required to join this course.

Entry Criteria: No qualifications required.
Progression route: On successful completion, students have an option to study BA Hons Leadership Management Skills for the workplace degree with a further two years of study at the same university.
